Multiple Listing Services (MLS) and selling your home....

Selling your home in today's technology driven world has never been easier. Multiple listing services have made homes available to REALTORS to view and send via email to potential buyers, thus increasing exposure and opportunities for sellers. The majority of real estate companies are members of a local MLS, however some still are not. ... Before listing your home, make sure the company you are interviewing is a member of an MLS. If they aren't, you may want to re-think the company or agent you are dealing with. MLS provides syndication to major real estate sites including ZILLOW.COM, REALTOR.COM, HOMES.COM and several hundred others that provide maxium exposure across the world wide web. If your home isn't on MLS, then it can't be found by other agents who may be working with potential buyers. Basically your home will only be exposed to people who drive by and those people who pick up a local newspaper. That potential buyer from California or Florida will never know your home is for sale!
